Areas of Practice
Howard has successfully directed every type of insurance fraud case, and has played leading roles in a wide variety of significant insurance coverage disputes. The fraud actions produced record recoveries -- including a $125 million recovery in a health insurance fraud case -- and significant developments in RICO and common law remedies for victims of fraudulent schemes.

Howard's engineering background (a degree in mechanical engineering) facilitates his handling of construction litigation, including disputes between owners and contractors, cases involving alleged design defects, and cases involving allegations of contractor fraud. Howard obtained summary judgments dismissing negligence claims against a leading architectural firm accused of creating dangerous wind conditions at the base of a New York office tower, and has successfully handled contractor claims arising from changes in designs, scope of work, timetables and conditions.

His practice involves a wide array of complex commercial litigations throughout the United States. He has represented leading insurance companies, advertising and public relations agencies, builders, manufacturers, and a major New York City law firm.

Howard is one of the firm’s creators and has been a partner since it opened its doors in 1980.
